的 Department of 数学ematics and Statistical Science supports undergraduate education and research productivity through the 数学 Assistance Center, the Statistical Assistance Center, and the Statistical Consulting Center. For undergraduate education, the department offers courses such as 数学 108, 数学143, 统计251, and 统计301 which are taken by students throughout the university.

的 数学 Assistance Center (MAC) opened in fall 2001 under a different name, serving students in two courses. Today the MAC serves over 2,100 students per year in three courses. 的 center serves as a model of how to customize mathematics instruction so that students from a variety of backgrounds can be successful in their mathematics education.

的 Statistical Assistance Center (SAC) provides drop-in help to students enrolled in our large undergraduate statistics courses (统计251, 统计301, and Stat 431).

的 Statistical Consulting Center (SCC) provided assistance for years to faculty, staff, and student researchers. Our faculty and graduate students in the consulting center made several hundred contacts per year and helped fuel the university’s research engine.  While the SCC is no longer open, our website hosts a wealth of resources to help today's researchers with statistical analysis.
