简·里夫斯

简·里夫斯 is director of the Idaho Office for Refugees (IOR), the agency responsible for the provision of assistance and self-sufficiency services to refugees resettled in the state. Reeves has been involved for over thirty years in developing and implementing service programs for refugees, beginning as a staff employment specialist in 1985. 自1989年以来, he has served in a number of management positions, including Director of the Mountain States Refugee Resettlement Program, Director of the Mountain States Refugee Center and, 自1997年以来, Director of the Idaho Office for Refugees.

Reeves is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, where he served as a combat pilot in the U.S. 空军. It was during his military tour in Southeast Asia that Reeves became intrigued with the culture and people he encountered and later, as an instructor pilot training young Vietnamese students, he developed an even stronger bond across cultures.

Reeves is the 2010 recipient of the Liberty Bell award presented by the Idaho Fourth District Bar Association, the 2011 recipient of the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement Director’s Award for commitment to the support and care of refugees, and a September 2014 White House Champion of Change.
